Liverpool 26/04/09
Nicola Hood (VP-Glasgow), Hope Robertson and Josh Crawford (both Edinburgh AC) travelled down to Liverpool to compete in the first NJAL meeting.
The best performance came from Nicola, who dominated the 1500m Steeplechase, winning by a massive 17 seconds. Her performance of 5:04.62 was a new League Record, not to mention a new PB by 5 seconds. This was a great performance to start the new track season and was impressive in the very windy conditions.
The sprinters had it tough, running into very strong headwinds. Hope Robertson competed in the 100m and 200m plus the 4x100m relay. In the 100m, she ran 13.05, a relatively slow time for her but this was not surprising with a -4.7 wind. It was enough for 2nd in the A race. In the 200m, the winds had dropped slightly to -3.0. Hope was 3rd in the A race with a time of 25.90. The Edinburgh 4x100m relay team was 2nd behind Sale Harriers Manchester in 49.25.
Josh Crawford only ran one event, the 200m. He ran an outdoor SB to finish 4th in the A race in 23.22. The wind was -2.2.
