Schools International Pentathlon - Glasgow 13/12/08
Kirsty Yates (Stewartry AC) represented Scotland in a 4-way match against England, Ireland and Wales.
She had successful Shot Put, throwing the furthest distance of 11.13. This is also an indoor PB for her, although a bit down on her 11.96 outdoor best. She then ran to a 60m Hurdles PB of 9.33, the fastest time by a Scot. Her Long Jump was slightly disappointing. Kirsty jumped 4.70, well off her 5.19 best, set at Dumfries and Galloway Schools back in June. Her High Jmp wasn't bad. She cleared 1.47m but couldn't equal her PB of 1.53 set last year. Finally, in her worst event the 800m, Kirsty was well of her best. Her time of 3:09.41 was the slowest of the competition. She still got an indoor Pentathlon PB of 2796 and finished 10th out of 14 finishers. She was 2nd Scot.
